Flagstaff’s Water Supply

Flagstaff Water Services relies primarily on surface water collected in the Upper Lake Mary and Lower Lake Mary reservoirs, supplemented by groundwater from Coconino Sandstone production wells during drought periods or peak demand. The system is smaller than Phoenix or Tucson’s and more sensitive to drought impacts on the Little Colorado River watershed.
